The World Cyber Games Committee has announced its host city bidding plan for the World Cyber Games 2009 Grand Final. Cities interested should apply by July 15 to be considered, after which they will all go through a vigorous evaluation process, where factors such as government support, location, facilities, promotion and other things will be reviewed. The winner will be announced March 2008.

“The World Cyber Games has quickly established a great reputation for contributing to the development of the economies and IT infrastructures of host cities,” said Mr. Hyoung-Seok Kim, CEO of International Cyber Marketing, the global organizer of the World Cyber Games. “Coupled with the growing popularity of e-Sport competition around the world, we believe that selecting the Host City for 2009 will be the most competitive Host City Bid in WCG history.”

Previous WCG Final hosts include Korea, San Francisco, Singapore and Monza (Italy), with Seattle playing host this year and Cologne, Germany hosting it the coming year.
