The Castlevania film has been in the news for quite a while, but is yet to go somewhere. That may be about to change: Variety reports that Sylvain White has been tapped to direct the upcoming live-action film adaptation of the beloved franchise from Konami.
Paul Anderson, the dude behind the Resident Evil and AvP movies, was initially set to direct the film. However, he is now working on Death Race, his upcoming non-game movie.
Meanwhile, White was reportedly offered a huge amount of money for the film. He is also in talks to develop Static and Ronin, a movie based on the Frank Miller graphic novel. The film is being co-produced by Rogue Pictures and Crystal Sky Entertainment.
Castlevania will follow the story of Vlad the Impaler and the Belmont Family, a clan that unleashed the original vampire and battles to defeat him.
