More Daily Smash Bros Updates

June 18th, 2007 Posted in Software, Wii by Brian Lockhart

If you haven’t been following the daily updates at the official Smash Brothers Website, now may very well be the time to do it. With a few weeks behind the belt, we’ve started to come full circle and have received most of the old news (ie. characters we knew from E3) and started getting a more steady stream of the new stuff. Something that will only improve after time.

Check it out here, but for the moment here is some of the things you may have missed since the last update.

This morning Link’s final smash move was revealed, something we’ve already learned about and have seen Mario in action with. The Final Smash is an item which lets you do basically your be all end all finishing move. Link’s specifically utilizes the triforce to deal some serious damage. Of course accompanying this is the less than stellar information: Samus is back in her full getup, and boxes/barrells will change appearance with the stage instead of being so generic.

We also had our first change to take a peak at Yoshi’s stage (theme music available on the website) and see the changing seasons in effect. The stages certainly have a much crisper look to them then the Gamecube version. It’s really nice to see that these upcoming fall titles will show off a bit more graphically of what the Wii is capable of. It’s just too bad it has taken this long.
