Wii Is The Best Product Ever (PC Magazine)
PC Magazine’s Lance Ulanoff has crowned the Wii nothing less that the best product ever (!). We’re all aware that the Wii is great, and is selling great, but the best product ever? Here’s what Ulanoff said:
Nintendo’s Wii gaming console, not yet one year old, could be the best consumer electronics product—ever. In contrast, the Sony PlayStation 3 is shaping up as one of the industry’s biggest flops.
He mentions all the good things about the Wii, one after another, and continuously points out that the PS3 failed everywhere the Wii succeeded.
Rarely have I seen such extremes in product development and delivery. Nintendo, in my estimation, did everything right. Sony, on the other hand, managed to screw up a decent product in every imaginable way.
Sure the Wii is popular and selling like, well, an insanely popular electronics device. But to name it the best product ever is to push the Wii hysteria a bit further than usual. What about cellphones, DVDs, laptops, digital cameras, video cameras, MP3 players, and um, the Internet ?!
