Create Your Own XBLA Game, Courtesy of Doritos
Doritos and Microsoft are inviting gamers to design the first ever consumer-created Xbox Live Arcade game. Open to residents in the US, the contest will see gamers submit their Doritos-inspired video game ideas at this website up to July 29; submissions must describe an original idea in no more than 500 words along with illustrations, or other ways to express the idea.
Five finalists will be chosen to work side-by-side with development teams to build playable versions of their game concepts. In addition, each finalist will also receive a prize package for their creativity, valued at over $6,000. Users will be able to play working versions of the five finalists’ games and vote for the one game they would like to see developed. Once votes are tallied, the game will be developed and be released for free on Xbox Live Arcade in Summer 2008.
