Ubisoft Denies Red Steel 2

June 28th, 2007 Posted in Online, Rumor, Software, Wii by Brian Lockhart

I think it’s pretty funny. A huge purple Elephant is sitting in the room. We’ve got the sales figures to back it up, the job advertisements, and even just a general common sense to realize the elephant isn’t just a figment of our imagination. And yet the Elephant continues to convince us it isn’t there. Ubisoft, for whatever reason, doesn’t want us to know of Red Steels 2 existence, which is a bit contrary to their strategy last year.

If you will recall, weeks before E3, Red Steel was the first major Wii software project to be revealed in full. It whet a lot of our appetites for Wii news, and as a result generated a lot of buzz. Unfortunately, a little more hype then the title really deserved. Is Ubisoft merely holding back on the information because the project is not yet ready, or do they really want to surprise us with something we’ve known to be true for so long.
