A recent study posted at Gamasutra by the The Diffusion Group reveals that trough 80% of consoles have the ability to playback DVDs, only 30 percent of those are aware of that, and even then, only 13 percent of those actually utilize it as a DVD player. Makes us wonder how important Microsoft and Sony think the playback of HD-DVD and Bluray if for their sales. Apparently that only reflects the low sales of the UMD for the PSP and the play-yan for the GBA (Asia/Europe). That reminds me of the good old days of the VCD.
