New GT5 Details

l933116.jpgSourcing the latest issue of Car and Driver magazine, PSU reports some new details on Gran Turismo 5.

As per the article, it takes up to 180 days for one man to create a car for the game, whereas it took one man one day back in the days of Gran Turismo 1. The site hypothesizes that GT5 will not carry the 700 cars its predecessor had, but that more will be available for download later.

The article also states that the game won’t have car damage as standard for all vehicles, because some car companies don’t want their cars crashed in a videogame. Yaumachi, the director of the series, also doesn’t want to have unrealistic car damage in the game, preferring it to be “perfect”.

Apparently, the game is scheduled for Spring 2008. If the past is any indication, the game will surely be delayed as Sony is willing to give Yaumachi all the time he needs to create the best car simulation yet.
