Every console loses exclusives one way or another, but it is PS3 that seems to get all the bad press about it. So let’s not fight the trend and just continue it. Fatal Inertia which was once a PS3 exclusive, and was in line for the Playstation 3 launch. Of course the game got pushed back several times, during November the game became cross platform for both PS3 and 360. Things became sticky when a press release only mentioned the 360 version of the game to be released on September 11 th.

After the developer was questioned about this, it was announced that due to problems with the Unreal Engine 3 running on the PS3, the game has been pushed back indefinitely.

“The delay is due to the progress of the game engine for PS3.”

The problems with the Unreal Engine 3 seem slightly fishy, and a bit more of a cop out answer. Many developers are currently using Unreal 3 on the PS3, so if there was an issue you can bet we’d have heard more about it at this point. Fortunately though, Bladestorm which has been going through all the same motions as Fatal Inertia, from delays to loss exclusivity will still be releasing on both platforms, as it does not use Unreal 3.
