An article on AnandTech, one of the most respected tech sites on the web, looks at DirectX 10 from a critical point of view. According to the article, many of the things done with DirextX 10 could easily be done with DirectX 9, and what couldn’t be requires way too much processing power at the moment. They did a number of tests on games supporting both APIs, and proved that DX10 didn’t result in any significant quality improvements. Not only that, the games showed quite a drop in frame rates. 1Are you serious? Those games listed werent even really built for dx10. You cant take A Dx9 game and at the end patch it for some dx10 visuals. It wont look near as good as others that were just for dx10 from start up. I dunno… if crysis still looks amazing with dx9 ill play it dx9 instead of dx10.
Dx10 isnt overhyped at all. have u seen the trailers? between crysis in dx10 vs dx9? It supports me visuals and looks alot better. I remember it showed a demo on the ship, the dx9 was amazing but the dx10 had better rag dude, better lighting effects and more depth visuals.
I understand where u can from doing this article but u need games like bioshock, assassin creed,crysis,AA3,project im, UT3. Shit, these games wll have amazing dx10 features… but wont look true for dx10 bc it wasnt developed from start up on it.
