We reported earlier that a $100 price break would be effective at Circuit City stores, but it was unconfirmed if it was just a sale or if it was a permanent retail price. An anonymous interview with a merchandising manager for one of the world’s biggest retailers revealed to GameDaily that the price cut is for real in every store beginning July 12th. Although, Sony will not be marketing the price cut until July 15th.
Ryoji Chubachi, President and Electronics CEO of Sony Corporation, responded to the interview to Reuters saying “At present we have no plans.” We’ll see what happens in the coming weeks, especially at E3.

1Well, I just read a few articles stating that the price drop WILl be announced at E3 and will take place afterwards. Apparently you also get a few blu-ray movies? Maybe that part is just with circuit city.
