The Last Remnant Trailer

Last Remnant is a title which has in a very limited amount of time snuck its way up my list of anticipated software. Since I’m not a PS3 owner, and Final Fantasy is not yet (cross your fingers) multiplatform, it’s my most anticipated Square Enix title beyond a doubt.

This game is making all the right moves. It’s gone multiplatform, will be releasing simultaneously in Japan and US, and seems to be really catering to a Western audience more so than usual. Of course the licensed use of Unreal Engine 3 isn’t the worst thing to look at either. Certains parts of the title seem a little generic, but this could really become a huge Square franchise with not much more effort on their behalf.

There are quite a few lingering questions of course. Will the game be real time, or turn based? When exactly will the game be making its simultaneous release? Since the game is after all catered for Western audiences, let’s hope Square Enix shows up at our massive Western conference to tell us al the details in a week.
