Virtua Fighter fans will be pleased to hear that the fifth installment of the series will feature an online versus mode on the Xbox 360. The many professional players of the game have said many times that due to the timing of the very skilled fighting game, online latency would not be suitable for the series, as even a microsecond of difference could greatly affect the match’s outcome. But, that didn’t stop Sega from adding the feature.
There is also no word if there will be online play for the PS3 version. When asked, Sega replied with no comment. It is possible that an online mode could be offered after the promotion of the 360 version dies down.

1Well, I think it is a good move on sega’s part. I mean, if it really comes down to microseconds then yeah, the top guys are gonna get screwed over but for those of us that like playing fighting games casually this will increase the games longevity by A LOT.
