Microsoft To Answer Sony’s Price Cut

Sony just dropped the price on the PS3 by $100. This will certainly result in a sales increase, taking away some of the potential customers from Microsoft. According to analysts, Microsoft is said to answer Sony’s price cut with a price cut of its own, dropping the Xbox 360 Elite to $399, the Xbox 360 premium to $350 and the Core version to $250.
They are soon moving to a 65nm CPU, which will cut the production costs and reduce heat, which will inevitably result in less overheated consoles (meaning less repairs). In regards to Nintendo, analysts don’t see any price cuts on the Wii and DS any time soon.
Unconfirmed reports from retailers suggest that Xbox 360 sales, particularly the Elite SKU, have increased drastically since the announcement of the 3-year warranty. A price cut by Microsoft would hurt Sony big time, and the Xbox 360 Core version could even compete with the Wii’s $250 price tag.

I was wondering when MS would actually think about doing this. SOny is losing badly cuz of the price’s being to high. Well 499 and u get a blu ray play isnt a bad thing if u think about it. Proven that gamers dont buy consoles for that reason but for gaming.
I have mixed feelings on this one. LOL when I saw the xbox core for 250 I have to admit it made me want to get it one. Plus with halo 3,bioshock,gears of war,ut3,ET quake wars, battlefield bad company, call of duty 4,assassins creed, grand theft auto 4,forza motorsport,hl2 orange box… the list continues!
This is where I draw the line and go…. maybe the extra 100-150 dollars will hurt the ps3.
