Take-Two Vows Manhunt 2 Will Be Published

July 9th, 2007 Posted in Action, Business, PSP, PlayStation 2, Portable, Wii by Erich Jurgens

The chairman of Take-Two, Strauss Zelma, said that they would do what ever they can to get Manhunt 2 published and relatively unaltered.

“We also have hundreds of extraordinarily talented people who have worked on this title for three years, and supporting their creative vision and bringing it to consumers as unvarnished and unchanged as possible is crucial to us.”

Strauss repeated several of the usual arguments in Manhunt’s defense to the analysts he was speaking with, such as the game being art, and that it is pointless to have the AO rating if games with it can’t be published. He said that it wasn’t the rating that was bad, it was the policy of them not being published. It seems as though we will be hearing a lot more of Take-Two’s struggle with the ESRB, but if Take-Two is going to be as stubborn as they’ve been about changing the game, they may have to eventually just give up and move on to Manhunt 3.
