E3: Konami’s Lineup

July 10th, 2007 by Brian Lockhart in Business, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Portable, Wii, Xbox360

We’re just hours out before E3 really kicks off tonight and tomorrow, but some companies are still letting us in on their E3 showing. Konami has all the expected titles, I wonder if we can expect a surprise or not. Completely absent from the list is Metal Gear Solid 4, but we already know Sony will be showing the game, so you don’t need to fear. Why do most developers these days still take such an even hand on their software? Things are fairly spread out among all consoles, although Microsoft kind of got the short end of the stick, but that’s only to be expected given Japan hardware sales. In a year or two, will Konami have sided more with one console over the other? It certainly hasn’t yet between DS and PSP.

Also, all these titles have been pegged with Fall 2007 release; we’ll have to see if they surprise us with any titles beyond those dates, because surely they have something already in the works.

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (PSP; Fall 2007)
Contra 4 (DS; 2007)
Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party (Wii; Fall 2007)
Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA 2 (PS2; Fall 2007)
Dewy’s Adventure (Wii; Fall 2007)
Fishing Master (Wii; Fall 2007)
Hellboy: The Science of Evil (working title) (PS3, Xbox 360, PSP; 2007)
Konami Kids Playground (PS2; Fall 2007)
Silent Hill Origins (PSP; Fall 2007)

Well for Dance Dance Revolution, you should be able to download songs on to the Wii by putting an album or Ipod in or just use the virtual console because I want to see Weird Al’s “Dare to be Stupid” in DDR for the Wii and Rock band (if it ever come out which they should).
