Konami: PS3 is Not Cheap Enough, Might Take Steps for MGS

Despite the recent $100 PS3 price cut, Kazumi Kitaue, the head of Konami’s North American and European operations, still has some complaints about the pricing.
“I wonder if Sony can win back user support by the price cut of just $100, I don’t expect a substantial impact … With $500, you can buy a personal computer.”
The fact that Sony has been losing money before the price cut is telling us that they are making an effort to sell their product. It is also a bargain for what it is, seeing as it has a very powerful processor and is one of the cheapest Blu-Ray players available on the market.
“Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps,”
It has been said countless times by Hideo Kojima and other big names that no other system would be seeing their logo on the box of the next Metal Gear, but as Kitaue pointed out, the speculation about a port of the title on the Xbox 360 is still up for grabs. If Sony loses this exclusivity deal, they will be losing a very big and important asset.

Well, who knows. The 360 is $500 in Canada so the PS3 would be a bit above that. Well anyway the $100 price cut is a good start. They just need some great games now.
