E3: Unreal Tournament 3 PS3 Exclusive This Year?

The upcoming multiplayer slaughterhouse Unreal Tournament 3 will be a PS3 exclusive in 2007, according to Sony’s Jack Tretton. He announced that Sony and Epic were in a new partnership, where the Unreal Engine 3 would be optimized particularly for the PS3, and will be distributed to PS3 developers worldwide.
Unreal Tournament 3 to be an exclusive for the PS3 this year sounds rather ridiculous, Tretton must have gotten something wrong during his presentation. He also said a number of other games were “exclusive”, games like Assassin’s Creed and Madden NFL 08. We know those aren’t exclusive, by far.

Makes sense to me, sony must be finally doing what microsoft has been doing, stealing exclusitivity, if only for a short time, but it wouldnt matter because the ps3 version supports mods and keyboard and mouse setup so that will be reason enough to purchase the ps3 version over the 360 if it does come to the 360 at all that is.

It’s a timed exclusive … it will be on the 360 in the early part of 2008. But still I may not wait … it may be time to start thinking about a PS3 … there are some good games coming to it finally.

I’d always pick UT3 on the PC rather than PS3 or 360. I could never imagine playing a high paced multiplayer game like UT3 on a console, gears of war maybe, but not UT3.
