Sony Not Providing A Price Cut For Europe

July 12th, 2007 Posted in Business, Hardware, PlayStation 3

Not that they will receive nothing. Sony announced that instead of a price cut, Europeans will have the option of buying a Starter Pack. Underwhelming though the name may be, the Starter Pack will include an extra controller, as well as the two games MotorStorm, and Resistance Fall of Man. David Reeves, the President of SCEE (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe) had this to say about the Playstation 3 Starter Pack:

“The exceptional value of the new Starter Pack will bring the excitement of PlayStation® gaming to a much wider audience. Add to this a stellar lineup of software titles for the second half of the year and we are confident that this amazing value Starter Pack will encourage many more keen gamers to join the PLAYSTATION 3 community”.

Though a step in the right direction, this is still going to face the problem of not being able to reach those consumers with a lower budget.
