Here we go again, apparently. After the minor PS3 price cut disaster, Sony’s European boss David Reeves said that going from 60 to 80 GB isn’t worth it, which is why Europe doesn’t get the 80 GB version, apparently.

“You know, the difference between 60 and the 80 gigabyte is very small. We just feel that going up 20 gigabyte is not worth it. If you’re going to double it, it’s worth it. So maybe you’ll see something a little bit later, but 60 and 80? Really not much difference.”

Finally, an honest Sony executive. Europeans don’t get the extra 20 GB (which is worth less than $10 in retail) , but we do get an extra controller and two games, which is a lot better deal that the U.S. 80 GB deal.
