Moore: "Xbox Warranty Issue Unrelated to Move to EA"

With the Xbox 360 extended warranty issue causing a billion dollar loss for Microsoft, many speculated that Moore’s leave from the company was not his own choice. All this was blown away by the man himself in Major Nelson’s podcast, where he states that his decision to resign is “completely and utterly unrelated to anything that’s gone on within the business” and that it is “purely about my family.”
He expressed “great excitement” about his new role at EA Sports, as well as “great sadness’ for leaving Microsoft to work at a rival company. As for his successor, he had this to say for Mattrick: “probably one of the top three people in the industry in experience and depth of knowledge”.
