pspds We all thought the war between the PSP and DS was won before it even began. But now it seems the PSP is making a last effort in the battlefield to make its statement: “I’VE GOT GOOD GAMES, TOO!” I believe it does, so does Erickson at Pocket Gamer, who talks about the state of the two handhelds after their respective E3 showings.

The DS has a couple of great games coming up, including The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Advance Wars 2, but the PSP isn’t too far behind. The Sony console also has Wipeout Pulse, God of War: Chains of Olympus, Syphon Filter, SOCOM and a couple of other great games coming too, but he points out a surprise that many gamers overlooked: Patapon, a new game from the developers behind Loco Roco, described as nothing but innovative. He also talks about third-party games such as Silent Hill, Dead Head Fred and many others.

There’s also the fact that Sony is listening to gamers and fixing the PSP’s flaws and adding new features - the PSP Slim loses much of its weight, makes the controls more responsive, faster game loading, and most importantly, adds a video out feature. The DS? Nothing to show.

He concludes that the PSP had the strongest showing at E3, and that it has lots of good games in the pipeline, finally saying that the future is looking good for both the DS and PSP.
