Retail Week: Rocking The 80’s

It’s nice to see all consoles receiving releases this week, something that has not happened as often as it should in recent weeks. That said, easily the most anticipated title belongs to the PS2’s Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80’s. Whenever you wander away from a numbered sequel is usually not a guarantee of quality. This too often holds true, and it seems like the title will be nothing more than a new song list, with a few facelifts to the game. That isn’t to say it isn’t a worthwhile purchase, but it’s not a numbered sequel (therefore marked improvement) over the last two titles. However, PS2 owners do have reason to celebrate, as it seems all the more likely the title will only be playable on PS2. Since the PS3 still doesn’t have a mainstream solution to the plug in guitar hero, PS3 owners may once again be forced to take out their old consoles.
