A while ago we heard that popular TV series Lost would be developed by Ubisoft as an upcoming video game title. Since that time, we’ve heard virtually nothing about the title, other than the fact it is still in production. Now, one of Lost’s biggest competitors joins the mix, NBC’s Heroes, which has just finished its first season. Variety reports that the Heroes title will most likely be unveiled at upcoming Comic Con, which seems the most likely candidate. They also feel quite confident that the series should be able to translate well to a game, I definitely agree.
Though few TV shows have been successfully translated into videogames, “Heroes” is a natural given its super-powered characters and heavy interest amongst gamers.
I think both Lost and Heroes have the potential to be huge successes, but I fear they will both go the way of so many movie licences. Lots of focus on the branding, but not as much effort put into the game overall. That said, I might just be a big enough fan of both shows that I’ll have to check out the games no matter what the final product. No specifics on a system as of yet, but it’s pretty likely to be a cross platform title.

1They would have to put alot of money and time into these titles to make them good. Original voice overs, good graphics, goood gameplay, it would have to be almost exactly like the tv shows. But who knows, it could work out.
