Nintendo Wii Has The Most Exclusives
August 1st, 2007 by Brian Lockhart in PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox360
We all know one of the most telling signs of success tends to be the software consoles generates. Games in general are a hard thing to measure, they appeal to different crowds of people, and different levels of quality can only be expected. Something that can be immediately measured are the number of exclusives a console has. It’s pretty unsurprising that Xbox 360 would have more console exclusives in the works than the PS3, given all the recent news and length of time it has been on the market. Officially however, with the recent games announced at E3, the Nintendo Wii has now pulled slightly ahead of the pack.
The Wii console has 113 exclusive games in the works, the 360 just slightly behind with 96, and unsurprisingly the PS3 lags behind with only 47 titles we know of in the works. One more interesting tidbit, the exclusive games in the works actually translate fairly accurately to the install base. The Wii should pass 360 in total sales within the coming weeks, while the PS3 install base sits at half. Of course, with Leipzig and TGS (which Nintendo is not attending) on the horizon, anything could change.

I think it’s awesome that the Wii is doing so well and considering that it is cheaper AND you actually are doing something while playing… well I just don’t think XBox compares at this point.
