Sony’s Warhawk Pricing Still Up In The Air
August 1st, 2007 by Brian Lockhart in Online, PlayStation 3
Sony will be launching Warhawk in both retail and as a downloadable title in just a few short weeks, but so far pricing for the download is still somewhat question. While the retail version will ship for full price, but pack in a 40 dollar headset as incentive, Warhawk selling for 20 dollars on PSN would be the difference, but doesn’t seem as likely. So just how much will the title hit the downloadble service for?
“Response to date from those in the Warhawk beta has been outstanding, so we think it will do very well. We will be pricing it to match what we are delivering in terms of graphics, gameplay, fun-factor and repeat playability, which we think is quite high.”
In other words, they are pricing it to match a the depth of the game, which is “quite high”. With the Xbox 360 and Virtual Console both maxing out at ten dollar purchases, Warhawk may have a hard time finding a place for itself. Granted the finish title may be stronger than some run of the mill titles, but whenever you start a new standard, the results could prove tricky.
