With all the hubbub surrounding GTA IV’s delay, it’s probably a good time to check in with another title all to familiar with getting pushed off. That being highly anticipated Spore, which for the first time in several years wasn’t shown off at E3, raising more than a few eyebrows. Just what is going on with Spore and when can we expect it? They expect the title to hit somewhere between March through May 2008, but of course the come won’t be released before it’s absolutely finished.
“We will make the choice of shipping a better game than an on-time game given the high potential for this franchise.”
In other words, wait until we feel it is done. Probably not the worst thing in the world, but given how long we’ve been following Spore, it’s getting a little hard to wait any longer. However, two people not wait are both CEO and presidents of EA. They are both enjoying it immensely, or perhaps just immensely enjoying us suffer?

2Until the most recent trailer Spore didn’t feel anywhere near a fun playable game.

3Yeah, and really, the longer it takes, the better it will be.
Since it seems it will be such a resource intensive game, perhaps it’s better for the mainstream non-hardcore gamers that it’s been delayed, more time for computer prices to go down, more time to upgrade.
I’m sure this game will definitely boost hardware sales.
