Today’s Smash Bros. Brawl update is a new stage, Castle Siege; which is based on the Fire Emblem games and is fully animated as a Castle being attacked. The sky in the level is filled with burning balls being shot by catapults, and when one of them actually hits the playing stage, the floor shatters and everyone falls into the Throne room of the castle. In this room there stands two statues holding up platforms that you can stand on, these statues can be smashed to bits, essentially turning the level itself into a pile of rubble. Once the stage has taken its share of bashing, the players fall down to a mysterious underground, which has yet to be revealed…

More screens after the jump.

I love the way the level animates while you’re playing on it. Although scenery interaction isn’t really a factor in Smash Bros, it’s a nice feel to have the environment “living” around your your character as they fight.
