Browser Based Quake Game Announced

   Wow, if this news becomes a reality, then it will definitely be one of the best browser-based games around.

   I know browser-games are usually text-based so I still don’t know how this is going to be. I’m betting their going to use flash with AJAX to make this game as real as possible (as close as it gets to the PC version of Quake Arena). And with that, they are assured that it runs on both PC’s and Mac.

   That is just my opinion based on the key word “browser-based”. But if they have another technology in mind, then that would be very very interesting.

   Questions that you would have to ask though is would the speed of the game depend on you Video Card (aside from your connection speed)? I know the Quake Arena games are video memory hogs but it wouldn’t be advisable to have an online browser-based game if it would still depend on your graphics card.. lol..

   Anyway, with this, maybe they could create another genre of online games. We already have MMORPG (Massively Multi-Player Online Game). Maybe we can call this one MMOFPSG for Massively Multi-Player First-Person Shooter Game… hahaha
