Xbox 360 Price Drop Confirmed!
Ever since Sony “dropped” the price of the PlayStation 3’s 60 gig SKU, everyone’s eyes have been on
Microsoft waiting to see if or when they’ll answer with a price cut of their own. Even though there’s been some pretty convincing evidence, there has not been any official word on whether the 360 would get a price drop- until now.
Microsoft has finally confirmed a new pricing for all four of the 360’s SKUs. First of all, the premium SKU is now $349. The Core SKU will be dropped by $20, making it now $279. The Elite is receiving the second largest price drop, going from $479 to $449. Finally, the Halo 360 will be priced at $399, but by the sound of things, the HDMI cable will not be bundled with the system, and will have to be purchased separately.
This price cut will take affect starting, as rumored, this Wednesday August 8th, except of course for the Halo 360 which will be available in time for Halo 3 sometime during September.
