Xbox 360 Price Drop Confirmed!
August 6th, 2007 by Erich Jurgens in News, Xbox360Ever since Sony “dropped” the price of the PlayStation 3’s 60 gig SKU, everyone’s eyes have been on
Microsoft waiting to see if or when they’ll answer with a price cut of their own. Even though there’s been some pretty convincing evidence, there has not been any official word on whether the 360 would get a price drop- until now.
Microsoft has finally confirmed a new pricing for all four of the 360’s SKUs. First of all, the premium SKU is now $349. The Core SKU will be dropped by $20, making it now $279. The Elite is receiving the second largest price drop, going from $479 to $449. Finally, the Halo 360 will be priced at $399, but by the sound of things, the HDMI cable will not be bundled with the system, and will have to be purchased separately.
This price cut will take affect starting, as rumored, this Wednesday August 8th, except of course for the Halo 360 which will be available in time for Halo 3 sometime during September.

Good! they started dropping prices again. The XBox 360 Elite needs it however. But it is still too much for me.
Premium Price is OK so it deserves to be bought, right now.

ok 20 dollars is not a price drop compared to how expensive the system is. if you have enough money to buy the system then 20 bucks isnt going to make much of a difference except mayb you can buy and extra game from 2006 that only cost 25 bucks.

You can still buy a Wii and 360 for less than a PS3.
And you can get the Premium instead of the Core! woohoo!

I just modded my Premium to look like the elite. I found myself that’s the only reasons of wanting an elite. But, look at this way guys. You can get an xbox360 for 350, probably cheaper around 200 at EB now or gamestop.. same company. Get the 3 year warranty for 30 bucks.. can not hurt. PLus u get a 30 day warranty Right on the Spot.
Now, it’s a great time to buy one of these.. Assassin creed? halo 3? UT3? Bioshock?! Madden 08!!!(looks so much better than 06 and 07. Mass effect!, blue dragon!, heck theyre so many good older titles in the last 3-4 months for xmas too.

Also, I was a blu ray fan. Honestly, the hd dvd looks like the better buy. Say, for the next 2-3 years the players will be in the high 1000’s/low 500 to 700’s/then 200-300/ so on and on. ATm they’re in the 1000 stage. WHat I thought was cool is that My friend brought over his 300 hd dvd. IM like dude, I didnt buy a player yet. He goes no worries man, flipped the disc over and it had the dvd version on the other side.
Say your player breaks, ur like sh** my player broke! No worries lol cuz u have 2 versions of the movie on 1 disc.. and it ll free up spaces too. This looks promosing lol. So you take a 200 dollar xbox plus a 150 player u have a gaming machine/hd movie player for 350 where the ps3 is still nailing 600. Then you can get a wii for together for 500.. still 100 bucks under the PS3 price.
Neither a fanboy, but Im good with numbers. Im more of a pc gamer. But, these consoles are getting pretty cool with the technology they have in them for the low cost price.
