Gears Of War And Halo Reign Supreme On Xbox Live
If the weekly live stats have anything to say about it, strongly produced multiplayer titles tend to last for long periods of time. For 360 stats, Gears of War is still the highest played title, while Halo 2 still goes strong on the original Xbox. Although it won’t be much longer before both Halo sequels dominate top positions on the list. Full Live useage, including the top ten XBLA games after the jump.

No surprise here … there is still no game that can challenge the visuals of that game … until that happens expect it to stay on top. Oh .. I mean until Halo 3 ships expect it to stay on top.

Yeah Anuban Halo 3 is gonna surpass Gears of Wars for sure. Too bad, I thought Call of Duty was more played but it’s only the 5th.

hey!!! halo 3 will be good but the graphics will suck. The visuals looked just like halo 2 but more shinny.. the game doesnt look next gen at all, i hope they upgrade the visuals. Gears, was good.. but not liek crysis good

The SP portion is definitely next gen is every way … I also think that the MP will look much better in the final product. Crysis is good but also keep in mind that the art style is very different from Gears and Bioshock and UT3. Whereas Crysis is going with a photorealistic art style The other games are using a more surreal, hyperrealistic art direction. So it is hard to directly compare them just on the basis of looks on a superficial level. The real comparison is between the two engines, CE2 & UE3 … so really it comes down to which engine is technically superior and until we actually play Crysis those aspects will be difficult to talk about unless you have the technical info on the engines. Really I would like to see someone use the UE3 engine to make a photorealistic game … it would be interesting to see a direct comparison of course you also have to take into account how flexible the engines are for making games in different genres. So far UE3 has the edge in terms of support from devs but the release of Crysis should certainly give CE2 a boost and more companies will probably end up licensing the technology for use in their games … that is what will be really interesting to see. How easy or difficult it is for other devs to create amazing looking games with the CE2.

oh, im not trying to compare the visuals of settings and styles. You take ut3 vs crysis.. They’re completely different, im not doubting u there.
The people look better in crysis, but ut3 had a better set for developers to use. Look at bioshock,project IM,gears of war.. so many others using this wonderful engine. I wasnt comparing crysis vs gears or ut3.
I just think halo 3 doesnt look that next gen, the trailer looked next gen. But, the demo doesnt look that much better than 2.
To me they all look great in their own way. I just wish for a company like bungie.. with the billions of dollars they have they shouldve atleast made the game a lot better in visuals. Look at crysis, crytek started with 23 people.. yeah they made millions but not billions. Now with crysis I see them to be a major company like EA,Ubisoft.. another id.
All the game’s will look amazing.. I just feel bungie couldve did better.
