The remake of the Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher’s Bay, a very decent FPS from the past, has been postponed to 2008. Originally scheduled for release in December 2007, the remake of the game for the PS3 and Xbox 360 will allegedly feature a lot of new content, 50% to be precise.
Swedish developer Starbreeze is still working on the remake, having just released The Darkness for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Publisher Sierra didn’t mention any possible 2008 release date, but sometime in the first half of ‘08 sounds realistic.

1As if this is a big surprise with so many games already due out this year. They are definitely better off waiting until next year to sell it when there is not so much competition.

2You’re absolutely right, this holiday season is the biggest in years, maybe the biggest ever. People have only a limited amount of money they’ll spend on games, so the tougher competition will affect sales in more than one way.
Rockstar did the right thing delaying GTA 4, so did the few other publishers who delayed their releases by a few months.

3I just hope they make this game more like a stealth game like splinter cell. in all of the ridick movies he mostly uses a knife and kills people quickly and silently that wat makes him scary. I hope its not just another shooter game but still lookin forward to another vindeasel game.

4I wouldn’t say it’s just a FPS…. That game is a masterpiece of art, a symbol in the world of video games. Played it ? First it’s inspired from successful sci-fi books, n it’s canon to the movies storyline yet independant… Second the game itself is incredibely realistic, the graphisms aren’t so ressources-hungry but they use very nice effects, light’n'dark tricks, sharp cutscenes… In one word it’s more a movie than a video game. Extremely linear of course, however it aint a problem : it is a pleasure to follow the events and each replay gives u a different experience (even if there are always many ways to do tasks or the possibility not to do some tasks at all)
