360 Software Perceptions Are Missleading

August 12th, 2007 Posted in Action, Adventure, Driving, FPS, RPG, Sports, Strategy, Xbox 360 by Brian Lockhart

Certain consoles can become notorious for their games, the Xbox in particular is known as primarily a first person shooter console, while the Wii for example is known for its minigames. Turns out perceptions may not always be accurate. After a little bit of counting for all the 360 titles currently released on the console, First person Shooters and Third Person shooters are actually not the main genre on the console. In fact, Sports titles and Action Adventure completely overshadows them.

One way or another, the software is not perfectly balanced, which is what the problem really could be classified. That said a huge RPG and casual resurgence is taking place, so it could only be a matter of time before the 360 sheds it’s image.
