Bungie is normally really good at keeping information about their under wraps. Despite this, a portion of Halo 3’s instruction manual has been leaked for your viewing pleasure. There isn’t really any new information revealed here, but if you don’t want anything spoiled you still shouldn’t click “read on”.

For the rest of you there, there’s scans and commentary of pages one to five and eight to thirteen after the jump.

All right so here’s the story so far, which is basically a recap of Halo 1 to Halo 2. It also includes the cliché “finish the fight” tag line at the end. Nothing new here.

OK, these pages do include something new, if not interesting. If you look at the bottom half of page five, you will notice the controls for the Forge level editor.

This page does provide some clarification. You may remember that when the first Halo 3 trailer was shown a lot of Halo fanboys were claiming the Master Chief was wearing MJOLNIR Mark VII becuase it was a different color and the gloves were different. It clearly says that Master Chief, at least at the beginning of the game, is still wearing MJOLNIR Mark VI.

This one is kind of interesting. As you can see, the Jackals are now birds. In Halo 1 they had odd snouts, in Halo 2 they had weird half beaks half mouths. Now it’s a full beak.

There you have it. No dual wielding energy swords. All you jedi wannabes can go home.

Chances are this is real. If I had to guess, I’d say that Bungie “leaked” this on purpose. It seems a little convenient that nothing new was revealed. Not to mention that the culprit didn’t manage to include pages six and seven as well as fifteen to thirty three.
