EA Unveils New Wii IP

August 21st, 2007 Posted in Wii by Brian Lockhart

Feeling excited at all? Anything that contains New, IP and a next gen console from a huge software developer has to drum up hope. But unfortunately, EA is not working on a huge action-adventure-FPS-RPG what-not, because this new title comes direct from the newly formed EA casual studio.

Before dismissing the title completely however, newly announced Destinies on the Wii is much along the vein of the Wii Sport/Play series of titles. The first of course being full Mii support, in a board game style adventure. Destinies may have it’s own unique title, but the recently announced deal between Hasbro and EA has had it’s first offspring. Destinies is based off the classic Game of Life, with some nice updates. It may not be a massive, or completely new idea for that matter, but board game fanatics (who probably fall more often than not into the casual games market) may find much to enjoy about this title.

Destinies will be releasing sometime this year in Japan, and will be hitting other markets in 2008. Considering the timing of the announcement, there is a good chance EA was holding onto the title for Leipzig or TGS, where we may likely learn more.
