Wii Finally Passes Xbox 360 In Sales

According to vgchartz.com, the Wii has finally surpassed the Xbox 360 in unit sales. There’s a slight chance the Microsoft may temporarily take first place this holiday, but it’s a safe bet the Wii will be the market leader from 2008 and on.
“As weekly data from vgchartz.com shows, the console outsold Microsoft’s Xbox 360 by a margin of 2.3 : 1 worldwide on average each week since its release, selling at an even faster rate than the most successful console ever created, Sony’s Playstation 2, despite still being sold out in most major markets.”

Wow! I am really amazed. I would never have thought it possible and I know MS is stunned. I am so thankful I am a Wii60 gamer … the two best systems in the world atm.

Well, anuban.. Remember this, most people are buying the wii bc of the new technology. 20 bucks, the 360/ps3 will crush it on software sales.. but my hat is up to nintendo.. from last to first. Good job nintendo.. seriously.. I gotta get ur system

im gonna add 1 more thing, im very very very very very very very surprised to america out sell japan. I thought japan would have the most consoles sold.. since well. It’s over that side of the world.

PS3 loses only because of the price. I’m sure when the price drops it will change.

Well no, look at the order, it’s in ascending price. the Wii which is cheapest is on top, the 360 second cheapest is second, naturally leaving the most expensive console, PS3 on the bottom.

Price doesn’t have much to do with it. The Gamecube didn’t sell as many as the PS2, even though the PS2 was more expensive.

When I see PS3 games all I see are mostly what are available on the other systems..
Wii- lots of first party games and multi platform, really entertaining, cheapest
360- lots of action and exclusives and multi platform, really entertaining and popular with online gaming, middle price
PS3- some action and a lot of multi platform games, very high tech, popular with HD TV owners, decent online support, most expensive
