Gothic 4 Developer Named

The developer behind the upcoming Gothic 4 has finally been named: Spellbound Entertainment. JoWood has had a fallout with the series’ previous developer Piranha Bytes and so had to choose a new studio for the fourth game.

The German-based Spellbound Entertainment has previously worked on several titles including Desperados 1 and 2, Robin Hood and Airline Tycoon Deluxe. However, the major reason behind choosing this developer is the development of the legendary Nordland Trilogy, according to JoWood. Furthermore, the studio has created its own tools for achieving high quality standard, according to the announcement.

More information on the game itself, including a release date, is expected in the coming weeks. Gothic 4 is in development for PC and unnamed consoles.
