Ever since Nintendo announced that Wii would have the ability to download retro games via Virtual
Console, people have been wondering whether popular Rare titles would be available for purchase, or if Microsoft’s acquisition of the developer would prevent that from happening. Today Rare addressed this issue unofficially while answering a question they received on their site.
“As you’ll know by now, Viva Piñata is set to be Rare’s PC debut. We may or may not do it with others in the future should the opportunity arise and the game be a good match. As for VC, it’s ultimately Nintendo’s decision what gets released. Beyond the DKC games we don’t have anything in the pipeline at the moment, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen in future.”
Start saving up your Wii points, because it seems as though playing GoldenEye 007 on the Virtual Console might not be so unlikely after all.

1Holy crap.
I’d pay $100 for Perfect Dark on VC. I really would.

4I’d certainly pay $20 each for GoldenEye and Perfect Dark on Virtual Console.
