Rumor: Sony Working on Video Download Service

In a response to many companies dominating the video download market, including Apple and Microsoft, Sony might be entering the scene of content delivery systems. The Wall Street Journal reports that Sony could be delivering content via the PS3, PSP, and even Bravia high definition television sets.
“Music and video downloading has been available through networks, and we are looking into the area as a possible business,” said a Sony spokesperson in Japan.
However, it is important not to overlook the fact that Sony announced to shut down their CONNECT music service not long ago. It is still not actually confirmed that we will be seeing some type of break-through technology, but it would make sense since the company will now be able to use their full resources to start up new projects.
