xin_320602120946305643220.jpgBritish Prime Minister Gordon Brown has joined the anti-videogame bandwagon, according to this MCV report. He is promising to review new rules for the advertising and sale of “violent video games” to children.

Apparently, he has now realized that there is a “growing concern about the effect of screen violence on youngsters,” adding that he is looking to draw up a new legislation for the promotion and sale of video games to minors. His plans would be put to a new Citizens Jury this week, assisting the government to draw up proposals to “ensure every youngster can grow up safe, secure and successful.”

MCV points out that Brown’s stance comes a week after opposition leader David Cameron launched an attack on violent video games. Cameron is said to have called for an appraisal on the age ratings and marketing of video games to minors.
