Through a brief sentence, Outerlight announced on its website that it is working on a sequel to The Ship, their multiplayer shooter. According to the post, the game is being funded by a major international publisher and that it is also heading to the Xbox 360, alongside the PC version.
This is explored further in a video interview in Consolevania, an internet gaming show. “We’ve literally just signed a deal for the sequel last week, so for most of this year we’ve been thinking about the sequel, thinking about all sorts of things about what the game will be,” said operations director Ailsa Bates.
As for the publisher, Bates told the interviewer that “it’s currently confidential,” though it was revealed that “they’re a very big publisher and they’ve signed the full project, funded it, etcetera.”
