Guitar Hero Wii Still Without DLC

September 6th, 2007 Posted in Online, Wii by Brian Lockhart

There always seems to be a black sheep whenever a major title covers multiple platforms. It seemed more and more likely that the Wii might be it as far as Guitar Hero 3 fans were concerned. During an interview with Pro-G, during a discussion about the Wii’s online play, it was at first concluded that the Wii would not be playing online when the game launches in October.

However, the statement has since been corrected by Red Octane, who clarify that while the Wii’s multiplayer can be taken at online at launch, Downloadable content is still up in the air.

“There will, in fact, be Online gameplay for the Wii when Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock launches in late October. However, there will not be Downloadable content available on the Wii at launch. That, we are still working with Nintendo on.”

Of course, we can all figure out the true problems. With both no distribution service yet set up for original content, and a certain lack of hard drive, some things needs to be done before Wii owners will be downloading.
