Mario Kart Wii Online – Juicy Details Galore

September 6th, 2007 Posted in Online, Wii by Brian Lockhart

Apart from the short clip we caught at E3 (much of which was filled with footage not even from the Wii version of the title), we know very little about Mario Kart Wii. But thankfully, a not so news worthy snippet in the Official Nintendo Magazine (UK ed.) contained a good deal of news. As can be seen, Battle Mode will in fact be included with online play, which can support up to 16 players. Now does that mean 16 karts, or just 16 players, two on each kart?

The other interesting mention has to do with the stunts. It’s hard to speculate just how they will play into effect. Mario Kart is certainly not a game run on points, but placing. So what exactly would be the reward in pulling off a stunt, a speed boost perhaps? We’ll surely learn more about Mario Kart once Nintendo has gotten past the rest of its big three titles.
