Street Fighter Film Gets Doom Director
Variety reports that Andrzej Bartkowiak, the director of the much-criticized Doom film, has been signed to direct the upcoming live-action Street Fighter film. The site reports that production is set to begin early next year, with Fox distributing and Hyde Park and Capcom producing.
Bartkowiak’s past credits include Romeo Must Die, Exit Wounds and Cradle to the Grave, as well as credits on Speed and Lethal Weapon 4. The Street Fighter film has been penned by Justin Marks, who is also working on other film adaptations including Voltron, He-Man and Super Max.
The upcoming Street Fighter film will focus on Chun-Li exclusively, as she embarks on a journey for justice.

THIS STREET FIGHTER MOVIE NEEDS TO BE GOOD.
The upcoming Street Fighter movie has to be a better movie and why is it focus on Chun Li and I think the main fighter Ryu should be the lead character in the live action film,Chun Li,Ken and all other Street Fighters will be in the film.
The 1994 Jean Claude Van Damme movie was a bad failure and the Amercian animated series was a failure as well.
So this version must do the justice to the game and it should be filmed from other places around the world and the filmmakers must play the game first before they start making the movie.
Capcom should get into talks with the Mortal Kombat producer Larry Kasanoff and Threshold Entertainment productions on the Darkstalkers and Devil May Cry series for motion pictures and television shows.
Thank You.
