Xfire Hits Hellgate

Flagship Studios has announced that it will integrate voice chat functionality in Hellgate: London by using Xfire’s P2P communication system, giving gamers the ability to chat with fellow gamers without going through a central server. Additionally, online gamers will be able to login to Xfire from within the game, enabling them to easily add their friends and other Hellgate users into a chat room where they can chat as they play.
“By integrating Xfire’s voice chat feature into Hellgate: London, we are able to strengthen our online community and make it even easier for our players to connect together online,” said Tyler Thompson, Technical Director of Flagship Studios. “The Xfire package will bolster the overall gaming experience for our users.”
Founded by the creators of the Diablo series, Flagship is working on Hellgate: London, an action-RPG set in post apocalyptic London. It will include both single and multiplayer modes, with the latter split into free and subscription-based models.
