Conspiracy Entertainment has today announced that they have acquired the publishing right to Dragon Lair and that they will be releasing the original and its sequel for the DS. Additionally, they will also publish the DS version of Space Ace. United Coders are developing all versions of the games.

Dragon’s Lair DS features two modes of play: 1983 Arcade and Director’s Cut. The first one plays just like the original arcade version released back in 1983 (even before I was born!) and is for the hardcore gamer who wishes to relive the old days. It is 100% true to the original and has all the scenes, death scenes and all the quirks and oddities found in the version. The Director’s Cut on the other hand is aimed at players who have never played the game before, presenting it in a different way. This mode will feature full support for Rumble Pak, stylus support and voice recognition.

The game is due to ship during Q1 2008, with the others to follow at a later date.
