Tom Morello in Guitar Hero 3

Activision today sent out word that award-winning guitarist Tom Morello of the legendary band Rage Against the Machine will guest star in Guitar Hero 3 as a boss character.

“Whenever I play Guitar Hero my opponent always kicks my ass on my own riffs. It’s embarrassing,” said Morello. “Now that I’m actually IN the game I hope the digital me will win once in awhile!”

He joins fellow legend Slash as they go up against players vying for the spot of number 1 guitarist in the game. Players are required to deplete the boss’ Rock Meter before the boss go into their Death Drain Solo. After defeating a boss, players unlock that guitarist as a playable character and continue to the encore for the set list, which is a master recording of one of their respective bands’ most well-known tracks. When Morello is defeated, players will perform “Bulls on a Parade”, during which he will perform on stage alongside the player.

Guitar Hero 3 will be released on October 28 on PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
