Confirmed: Link’s Crossbow Training

September 10th, 2007 by Brian Lockhart in Action, Wii

Well you certainly have to give Nintendo credit for this one. It wasn’t even a full day that the leak gave us the scent of a Zelda pack in shooter with the Wii Zapper. We have known for a good deal of time that a title would be included with purchase of the zapper, but while many surmised a Wii play type compilation, or more generally, Duck Hunt, Link wasn’t high on our radar. So what exactly has Nintendo officiated with the title? It will be releasing November 19th with a price of 19.99 USD. George Harrison, one of our favourite PR connections to Nintendo has this to say about the title:

“The Wii Zapper combines our remarkable controllers into one housing with a classic style reminiscent of arcade-style games,” says George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. “Both veteran and first-time players will find it brings a whole new dimension to games where targeting is key and provides even more exciting game-play experiences.”

It’s hard to know what to expect from Nintendo these days. Will this be a title you keep visiting again and again, or will you only secure it to see Link’s face amongst your collection? And according to the original source, they seemed impressed with the game, always a positive foot forward. Really only one question remains; was this our big September surprise, or do we still have more good things to look forward to from Nintendo?
