GameStop Manager Suspended For “Games for Grades” Policy
September 14th, 2007 by Erich Jurgens in Business, News
Brandon Scott, a manager for GameStop was suspended today because of a new policy that restricted the distribution of game products to, shall we say, less intelligently inclined students. The premise for the “Games for Grades” policy is that any student aged customer needs to get an adult to verify that he or she is receiving good grades.
Unfortunately, Scott did this of his own accord, without checking with his superiors to see if it was OK first. Naturally, cutting off a percentage of their customers made GameStop upset, leading to Brandon Scott’s suspension. As of now, we don’t know when Scott’s suspension will be over, or whether he will be allowed to continue enforcing his policy once it is over.
