Simpson Paid $50,000 for Likeness in Game

September 14th, 2007 Posted in News, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360

ojsimpson TheStreet reports that infamous football star O.J. Simpson received $50,000 from Take-Two for the rights to use his likeness in All-Pro Football 2K8 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Interestingly, however, Simpson will not be getting any of the money from the deal as a Los Angeles judge has ordered him to relinquish the payment to the Goldman estate, the murder victim.

Most interesting is the fact that the deal with Take-Two states that in a renewed deal Simpson would receive another $50,000 for the use of his likeness for another two years. The publication has more on the contract where Take-Two separated the included football legends into groups, with variable pay for each tier of players.

Just a random question, is that the goblin dude thing from Dead Rising in that picture? Those guys are HILARIOUS. Especially when they jump up in the air and go spread eagle and land on their face and blow up… Laughed for hours about that.
